Scented Secrets Products

Over the past few months I have received some great questions about how to properly use Scented Secrets products to get the most out of them and how it is possible they carry the amount of energy they do.

Here’s the scoop! Created in a sacred temple, each of our products is sanctified specifically for you.  Made upon receipt of your order, these items are not created until we have a vision of you and your desire in mind.

Infused with symbols, imbibed with ancient energies and consecrated by a High Priestess, these items literally realign universal energies with your own, changing the energy of your body, aura, mind and space.  As they create a vibratory shift in energy, these products prepare you and set your space for your desire to be born in the physical.

They Are The REAL Deal!

The Products:

1.     Dragon Essence:  Proprietary Blend of Herbs handed down through an ancient Shamanic Lineage used to protect the home, workplace and individual.

Awakening a New Year

As another year draws to a close, I once again reflect on its highs and lows and my sometimes reckless orchestration of these experiences.  My creation has brought me much in the way of lessons and clarity of vision for the days to come.

For the first time in many years, snow blankets the ground outside my window and the night takes on a sort of luminescence, both eerie and beautiful.  Rainclouds gather in the darkness, threatening to purge the sleeping earth of its icy blanket if only for a few short hours, and the cycle of life continues.

Heart to Heart: The “Mechanics” of the Hug?

I am a hugger.  I’m not sure where I got it from, as Dad lends himself to the handshake (even amongst family) and Mom was a “nodder.”

I like the connection.  The openness and exchange of energy.  The quiet acknowledgement of the divine presence in another being sharing the vibration of life-force.

I never thought of there being an incorrect way to give a hug.  True, “tent” hugs (butts out and a quick tap on the upper back) exchange less energy, but are they wrong?

On Breast Feeding

My daughter is ten months old and loves to eat virtually anything on her plate! She has been walking unassisted for almost a month, drinks water from a cup, has eight teeth & a full head of hair, and prefers to sit on the toilet to using her diapers (most days). She is bright, happy, friendly, inquisitive and healthy!

But I am consistently met with astonishment when I excuse myself to nurse her. “You’re STILL breastfeeding?” “Isn’t she a little old?” “Why don’t you just give her a bottle?”

The fact that I am ABLE to breastfeed is a wonder to me. When she was born, I struggled to produce enough milk, and I have had to supplement with a little soy formula even with tremendous support and assistance from my brilliant lactation nurse and pediatrician (a founder of the La Leche League).

On Yule

December is here!  As I watch the snow falling I both dread and anticipate this time of year, which will happen regardless of my desire to continue traipsing about without puffy down coverage and heavy boots.

Although I say, “dread,” it is probably too strong of a term to be wholly truthful in nature.  I am not a fan of snow and cold, but I must confess that the soft white blanket of sparkling light covering the ground and the arms of the trees on this day of first snow . . .is . . .beautiful.

The Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, is a time for forgiveness, reconnection, remembrance, rebirth and community!  It begins the twelve days of the Yule celebrations.  As the sun slowly makes its journey back to the earth, the warmth of family and friends warms not only the heart, but also the body and spirit.  Surrounding ourselves with the ones we love is a celebration of life.

On Thanksgiving

Americans have gotten some negative feedback on our celebration of Thanksgiving.  Accusations of gluttony, forced relationships and labored thanks are amongst the “Tweets” and “U-Tube” videos that have passed before me in these last few days.

I personally enjoy preparing a Thanksgiving meal for my family and friends and will use the holiday as an opportunity to do so!  There is something magickal about gathering together to share a meal.

On Samhain

Often recognized as the most important festival on the Wheel of the Year, this celebration marks the Last Harvest and New Year!  With the sunset, winter is upon us.  The fires of Samhain burn with vigor, re-kindling home fires, purifying space, creating protection, enriching the land, guiding the souls of the dead through the veil, sending forth prayers and wishes and kindling visions of brilliance for the year ahead.

On this night, the veil between this world and the next grows thin, lifting the thick fog between them and making this a perfect time for divination.  Casting Stones, Reading the Tarot, the Candle Flame and various other forms of Scrying are often performed on this night.

On Fairness

The Libra in me is in a constant state of judgment in its search for balance.  Upon exposure to perceived hypocrisy, untruth, favoritism or lack of integrity, its hackles go up and the scales tip, seeking to correct the injustice.  And each time, I ask myself, “why?”

Why does it matter what others are doing?  Why does it matter what they think or say?  And what does it really have to do with who I am, anyway?

Life isn’t fair.

These words echo in most of our ears, drilled in from early childhood and reaffirmed over and over as we grow into adults.  Yet the need for things to be fair lies within us, constantly rebalancing our interaction with others and shaping the worlds in which we live and grow.  Can it be overcome?  Should it be overcome?

On Lammas

August marks the beginning of Harvest season and the celebration of Lammas.  This is a time for not only reaping the benefits of our ripened crops, but for paring away that which we no longer need.  It is also traditional to hold tournaments in which individuals can demonstrate athletic and mental prowess! All in the name of fun, of course . . .

My recent move from California to Illinois brought me to the not-so-surprising realization that I own a lot of . . . stuff.  As I began packing up my two-bedroom apartment in late May, I found myself sorting through everything with a willingness to let go.  Still, four trips to the Salvation Army later, I was purchasing box after box in order to fit what remained in a 17’ truck.

We are supposed to reap the fruits of our labors.  But is it just the physical bounty we must catalog? Certainly our material items are a measurement of our success.  We purchase the best items we can afford or spend extra money to stock up on items we will use in the months to come.  And there is something to be said for all of this!  We are meant to be abundant!  We are to take delight in this world and what it has to offer us by way of our abilities to create!

And there is more.
